Why:	Milestone History provides an audit trail of all changes to Milestone Types, Groups and Tags.

Before you begin

Create the structure of generic Milestones and Milestone Groups then associate them with Work Types. See relevant topics in section Related Topics for details. 

Procedure

This procedure describes how to do the following:

• View the history of actions applied to Milestone Tags, Milestone Types and Milestone Groups;
• Filter the history of actions applied to Milestone Tags, Milestone Types and Milestone Groups;
• View additional information about Milestone Tags, Milestone Types and Milestone Groups.

 1. On the LPG menu, select Reference > Milestones.

The Milestone Management screen appears with the Milestone Types tab selected.

2. Click the Milestone History

The Milestone History tab appears with the list of actions applied to Milestone Tags, Milestone Types and Milestone Groups (in descending chronological order). The Description column shows what action was applied to the Milestone Tag, Milestone Type or Milestone Group.

3. To filter the list, click Search.

The Search criteria panel drops down.

4. Fill in the search fields as required.

Date From / to – Specify the date range to apply as to when Milestone Tag, Milestone Type or Milestone Group changes were made.

Management Type – Select whether the action applied to Milestone Types, Milestone Groups or Milestone Tags.

Management Value – Specify part of the Milestone Type, Group or Tag name to display. (E.g. Show all Milestone Types, Groups or Tags that have the word “Final” in their name.)

Context – Specify whether the Milestone Tags, Milestone Types and Milestone Groups applied to Order Milestones or to Matter Milestones.  Leaving this blank will pick up both.

Description – Display actions that contain the specified word/phrase. (E.g. Display actions with the word “updated” in them. This will display instances where Milestone Types/Groups/Tags have been modified. This can be useful to determine when actions such as changing Milestone dates occurred.

5. Click the Search

The list of actions matching the search criteria is displayed. Given the search criteria shown in example above, the resulting list shows any Milestone Tags, Types or Groups that were updated during the period 15^th to the 19^th December 2014.

6. To view more information about the action undertaken on the Milestone Type/Group/Tag, click the Info checkbox.

The Info box is displayed for each line in the history list.

In the example shown above:

A –Milestone “Linked to previous milestone” was chained to Milestone “Project Start milestone” in Group “Project Group Milestone”.

B – Milestone “Linked to previous milestone” was edited – The Provider Editable checkbox was ticked.

C - Milestone “Follow after first milestone” was chained to Milestone “loner milestone” in Group “milestone group 3”
