Milestones – Notification & Auto-Instantiation Configuration

System Administrator, Commercial Contract Manager, All Users

Why:

Some LPG configuration is required to control the way Users work with Milestones and to set the notifications when Milestone targets are approaching or the target date has been breached.

 

 

Before you begin

Configuration requirements to make use of Milestones

  • System Administrator - In the Customer Configuration settings, the System Administrator can set up notifications (emails and LPG messages) to provide warnings when milestones are approaching a deadline or have breached it.
    (See topic Set Messaging Preferences – Milestones.)
  • LPG User – If the System Administrator has enabled Users to do their own Configuration, each User can manage their notifications (including Milestone notifications.)
    (See topic Set Personal Messaging Preferences.)
  • Commercial Contract Manager– On Contracts, the Commercial Contract Manager can enable automatic instantiation of Milestones, if this functionality has been turned on. This allows Milestones to be automatically added to Orders and Matters.

 

Procedure

For System Administrators

1. On the LPG menu select Reference > Customer Configuration.
The Customer Configurations screen appears with the Messaging tab selected.

2. Scroll down to the Messaging and External Notifications Options section and edit the System Generated Milestone Warnings and System Generated Milestone Breaches options as required.

3. Scroll down to the Milestone Notifications section and select the options for messaging Matter and Order owners.

4. Click the Save button to save the messaging options.

 

For LPG Users

1. On the LPG menu select Users > My Contact Details.
The My Contact Details screen appears.  Click on the Messaging Preferences tab.

2. To change the company default setting, scroll down to the User Preferences section (N1) and click on the radio button (N2). This will enable the Notification check boxes (N3).

3. Scroll down and edit the System Generated Milestone Warnings and System Generated Milestone Breaches options as required.

NOTE: Users cannot elect to receive email notifications without first clicking the Messages checkbox.

 4. Click the Save button to save the messaging options.

 

For Commercial Contract Managers:

 1. On the LPG menu select Contracts > Find Contracts and search for the contract you want to turn Automatic Milestone Instantiation on for.

Select the Edit action to open the Update Contract screen.

2. The Update Contract screen appears. Click on the Management tab.

3. Scroll down to the Milestones section at the bottom of the Page and click on Enable Automatic Instantiation of milestone types based on the work type (N1) and the Save Contract Management Details (N2).
